I found out the hard way. I built and sold three landscape companies, including Scapes Landscape, which grew into one of the top 100 landscape companies in America. I also held leadership roles at ValleyCrest Landscape Maintenance and The Greenery Inc., where I saw how the biggest organizations in the industry operated from the inside. What I learned is that the companies that win long-term aren't the ones with the best crews or the most trucks. They're the ones with the best systems.

That conviction led me to start Envisor Consulting with Ben Gandy in 2011. Together we built the Green Dot Operating System - a proven framework that gives landscape business owners what they actually need: strategic clarity, financial visibility, and repeatable processes that scale. Not theory. Not generic business advice. The specific playbook that's helped companies from $3M to $600M+ achieve predictable profitability and build businesses they're proud of.

Today I spend my time consulting with owners who are ready to stop running on instinct and start running on a system, and hosting events like ENVISION - where you can see the Green Dot Operating System running live inside a real landscape operation.
